About the Item

Exceptional 81-piece dinnerware set from the renowned English firm Johnson Bros., featuring a 1940s design, "Happy England." Each piece has a scalloped border, a white background, and an elegant and striking rural landscape design. The stamp on the back reads "Happy England, Made in England by Johnson Bros. A genuine hand-engraved, all decoration under the glaze, detergent & acid-resistant color pat n. 190 093. Ironstone." (“Happy England, made in England by Johnson Bros. A genuine hand-engraved design, all decoration under the glaze, resistant to detergent and acid, patent no. 190,093. Ironstone.”) It is precisely this material, known as semi-porcelain or ironstone, that earned the company its special recognition. It combines the elegance of fine porcelain with great durability, making it ideal for everyday use. The transferware technique, or glaze transfer, refers to the design being printed onto the ceramic before firing, guaranteeing precise and repeatable details. Johnson Brothers (1883–2015) Johnson Brothers was a British manufacturer and exporter of tableware, known for its early introduction of “semi-porcelain” tableware. It was one of Staffordshire's most successful potteries, producing tableware, much of which was exported to the United States from the 1890s to the 1960s. They were also major manufacturers of large-format bathroom ceramics. Some of their designs, such as "Eternal Beau," "Dawn," "Old Britain Castles," and "Historic America," achieved great popularity. The company's success was due in part to its ability to identify and follow trends that appealed to its American customers, and in part to the high quality of its designs, executed by skilled artists. Founded in 1883, it operated as part of the Wedgwood Group from 1968 to 2015. However, following Fiskars' acquisition of the Wedgwood Group in 2015, Johnson Brothers production ceased. The company name is derived from the names of its founders. The four original Johnson brothers were Alfred, Frederick, Henry, and Robert. His father married the daughter of a master potter, James Meakin. In 1883, Alfred and Frederick Johnson began production at a now-defunct pottery known as Charles Street Works, which they had acquired at a bankruptcy auction in Hanley. Initially, they specialized in making durable earthenware, which they called "White Granite." The success of this venture led to rapid expansion. In 1888, Reverend Henry Johnson joined them, followed ten years later by a fourth brother, Robert Johnson. Shipping costs include professional, custom-made packaging and personalized delivery with tracking and a guarantee. Due to the number of pieces and their fragility, the shipment must be divided into several packages. Gorgeous porcelain tableware from the Portuguese firm Quinta Nova, renowned for its fine porcelain. Its meticulously painted floral design combines warm tones of orange and green on a pearly white background, evoking a romantic yet contemporary touch. Located in Roma, IT

Bavarian Porcelain Dinnerware Set By Carl Schumann Factory 54 Pieces This wonderful dinnerware set, produced by the Carl Schumann Porcelain Factory in Arzberg, is a quintessential example of mid-20th-century Bavarian porcelain craftsmanship. [Crafted from high-quality, translucent white porcelain, frequently referred to in the industry as "White Gold" for its purity and delicate resonance. The set features the iconic "Echt Cobalt" (True Cobalt) underglaze technique. The central motif is the "Dresden Flowers" or "Blue Rose" pattern. It consists of finely detailed, hand-painted floral bouquets, often featuring a central rose surrounded by smaller wildflowers and foliage. The pieces exhibit Rococo Revival influences, seen in the scalloped edges and the subtle basketweave (ozier) relief or "Rose Relief" embossing along the rims. Many items are finished with a delicate gold gilt trim or "Dresden edge," adding a layer of formal elegance and highlighting the rhythmic, scalloped borders. Established in 1881 in Arzberg, Bavaria, the Schumann factory became renowned for its sophisticated "Dresdner Art". This specific style remains highly collectible due to its fusion of traditional 18th-century European floral aesthetics with the refined production standards of 20th-century German manufacturing. This set, never before on the market, comes from an important european private collection This, important porcelain service consists of a total of 54 pieces, as follows: 42 Round dinner plates (flat and deep) Dimensions 13 plates diameter cm 25.5 6 plates diameter cm 21.5 11 plates diameter cm 20 12 plates diameter cm 17 The focal point is a central bouquet featuring blue flowers (often referred to in catalogs as the "Blue Flower" or "Dresden Blue...
