A masterful work of Persian artistry from the late 19th century, this antique rug encapsulates the refinement and elegance of traditional Persian weaving. Hand-knotted in wool circa 1880, it showcases a rare tiled field design, sometimes referred to as a "garden panel" layout-comprising an array of staggered medallions and rosettes in alternating diamond and floral forms. Each compartment features individual floral motifs and arabesques, rendered in a palette of rich rust, cerulean, ivory, sapphire, and pale celadon green.
