An impressive large-scale chandelier produced by Feders, a renowned Mexican lighting manufacturer celebrated for its innovative designs during the 1960s and 1970s. Constructed of steel and featuring 69 hand-blown glass cubes in a vibrant palette of amber, red, orange, and clear tones, this striking fixture creates a remarkable interplay of light, color, and texture. Each glass cube, measuring approximately 6 x 6 cm, is individually housed within a hand-crafted steel frame that highlights the sculptural quality of the thick, textured glass. When illuminated, the chandelier emits a warm and atmospheric glow, embodying the bold and expressive character of mid-century modern design. Feders became known in Mexico for producing distinctive lighting fixtures that combined artisanal blown glass with innovative metalwork. Their work is often compared to that of Swedish designer Erik Höglund, whose celebrated lighting designs similarly merged handcrafted glass elements with strong architectural structures. This chandelier retains its original porcelain sockets and has been professionally rewired to ensure safe and reliable operation.
