About the Item

Two units available. Compatible with US/EU standards. LED compatible. Space Age pendant lamp in the style of Friedel Wauer’s German designs for Goldkant Leuchten, and of the Castiglioni’s creations, Italy, 1970s. Brutalist and Scandinavian vibe with a pine wood structure combined with cloud-shaped lampshade made of a white lacquered metal structure covered with Cocoon resin. Space Age, French Riviera, Brutalist, Op Art, Scandinavian, Nordic, Danish, Safari and Mid-Century Modern style. Very much in the style of Estiluz’s Spanish designs, which used the Cocoon resin in some of its iconic lighting fixtures during the 60s and 70s. Very much in the style also of the “Taraxacum” pendant lamp designed by Castiglioni, which became very popular in all of the interiors of those decades, and still today is a very coveted object, and of George Nelson and Isamu Noguchi’s creations, who used this material as the main element in many of their designs. Very much in the style also of Tobia Scarpa’s iconic “Nuvola” pendant lamp for Flos. Collectible item. The Cocoon material was invented after World War II to protect unarmed warships and other unprotected items. It is made of powdered plastic and fiberglass. Cocoon lampshade diameter: 40 cm Cocoon lampshade height: 31 cm Wire lenght: 210 cm For one E27 bulb (compatible with American E26 bulbs). Original electrical installation reviewed and fully operational, with new 210cm lenght new white wire. LED compatible. Small deffect on the lampshade (see last photo). Note: We always try to the fullest to respect and preserve as much as possible all the original elements of each piece (wiring, lampshade, finishes...) so as not to alter the original aesthetics and so that they can continue to have another life with their intact soul. That is why sometimes certain elements can present wear and tear, but they are part of the life of each piece, always providing a very pleasant patina.
