About the Item

A very large Italian industrial lantern from a warehouse or factory from the 1940s-1950s. It is in a rare heavy blue enamel color on iron. The top piece is painted a silver color paint on iron. The lantern is comprised for three main pieces, a silver painted top and the middle and bottom blue enamel pieces. The body of the lantern measures is 17 inches in diameter, 20 inches in width including the side hinges and 23.5 inches tall. The lantern has the original hand blown glass shade in a silver painted frame that matches the top. The frame has a screw release and swings down to open to change the bulb. The interior has an aluminum reflector panel set into the white enamel interior of the shade. The lantern is wonderfully distressed with scrapes in the silver paint, corrosion on the hinges and some nicks in the enamel yet no structural damages. There is a single standard socket shown with a large 300 watt light bulb. However, any wattage may be used and for softer light. A wonderful look would be to us a reproduction antique style light bulb. Shown with a black link chain included with lamp.
