About the Item

A beautiful and high quality Italian 19th century Louis XV st. giltwood chandelier. The six arm chandelier is centered by an impressive and finely detailed bottom acorn finial with large striking pierced richly carved scrolled acanthus leaves leading upwards. At the center are three pairs of elegantly scrolled arms separated by charming finely detailed seashell reserves. Each arm is decorated with finely detailed acanthus leaves, twisted ribbon design and lovely reeded foliate candlecups. The impressive pierced central support above displays three most elegant scrolled elements with foliate carvings centering charming floral finials and leading up to the reeded and mottled canopy with a fluted ring. * Shades are shown for display purposes only.
