About the Item

An exceptional Italian Rezzonico Murano glass chandelier from the 1980s, featuring an elaborate multi-tiered composition entirely handcrafted from blown and worked glass. The chandelier combines ruby-red, clear, opalescent white and delicately colored glass and is richly decorated with hand-formed flowers, leaves, scrolling elements and suspended glass drops. The sweeping ribbed glass arms and finely detailed floral bobeches demonstrate the remarkable craftsmanship associated with traditional Venetian Rezzonico chandeliers. With its impressive proportions, rich colors and highly sculptural appearance, this chandelier is a spectacular statement piece and a beautiful example of late 20th-century Murano glassmaking.
