About the Item

A contemporary reinterpretation of Venetian glass craftsmanship, the Gio floor lamp features spun metal shades and an Emperador marble base. While the upward direction of the shades creates a subtle up-light, which is dimmable for a softer ambience, the base enhances the lamp’s materiality while providing a strong, grounding anchor. A graduate of IUAV, the Venice University Institute of Architecture, Nichetto founded his multidisciplinary practice in Venice in 2006 where he merges classic ideas with a contemporary language and distinct personality. With an affinity for creative collaboration, Luca Nichetto works with designers from around the globe to craft compelling concepts, specialising in industrial design, product design and consultancy. Nichetto’s portfolio is comprised of works that display a natural exuberance and playful expression which are reminiscent of the Murano glass-making industry that shaped his formative years as a young designer, as well as embodying the Swedish spirit of modernity and sustainability. “I think the future is in sharing,” says Nichetto. “It’s much more powerful than being alone. It’s about being open to other perspectives. The best results come when there’s 50 per cent of each.” Kindly note that the lamp will ship from Denmark with the following specifications : Voltage 230 V Light Source 4 x G9 LED Max 5W So please note the following : - The fixture is designed for 230V. Some of the driver circuits may be able to "feed" the LEDs enough current even with a 110V input, some may not. You'd have to try it and see. The led will either not work, produce a very dim light, or work at full brightness. (If the led bulb doesn't work, changing the led bulb with ones that are rated for the planned voltage will work ) - Wire conduct electricity whether it is 110 volt or 220 volt – wire doesn't discriminate. So long as you use a bulb purchased in the US (made for 110 volt usage), you don't have to worry about the voltage difference. - You can convert 220 volts to 110 volts by either using an adapter plug or removing the existing 220 receptacle from the outlet box or replace the plug end with a 120v plug. Kindly note that the only way to know which is the best solution of the ones mentioned above , would be by trial and in case the lamp is converted warranty will not be valid but it is our responsibility to make sure we revert all this information to you.
