About the Item

This magnificent, hand-forged 1950's Mid-Century Modern sunburst ceiling fixture exemplifies the masterful metalwork produced in Spain during the mid-20th century. Brilliantly straddling the line between sculptural Brutalist artistry and the opulent glamour of the Hollywood Regency style, this dramatic flush-mount light functions as a commanding piece of celestial art whether illuminated or unlit. It features multiple layered tiers of hand-hammered, jagged iron rays that radiate outward from the centre adding exceptional depth and dimension. The heart of the starburst houses a frosted, glass lens that evenly diffuses light, eliminating harsh glare and bathing the surrounding metal in a warm, golden glow. Though natively designed as a flush-mount ceiling light, equally striking when mounted as an architectural wall sculpture. Offered in very good vintage condition, retaining its highly coveted, untouched gold leaf surface detailing and minor age-appropriate wear. Diameter 72 cm, Depth 8 cm
