About the Item

A pair of ceiling lamps model “11197” designed by Harald Notini for Arvid Böhlmarks Lampfabrik, Stockholm, 1940s- Model illustrated in the 1940 catalogue. These rare late Art Deco ceiling lamps, designed by Harald Notini and produced by Böhlmarks in Sweden during the 1930-1940s, is a noteworthy example of early mid-century Scandinavian lighting design. The lamp features a merged set of 2 shades with a larger clear-glass pieces with carved etchings and a smaller tubular piece with slightly yellow frosted glass inserted. The hardware is made from nickeled steel and brass. Both show signs of wear, minor oxidation, and visible surface marks, all of which contribute to its vintage character. They work with one bulb each e26/7 60W max, Led's recommended. Harald Notini (1879–1959) was a designer and artistic director at Arvid Böhlmarks Lampfabrik and Pukebergs Glasbruk. When Notini came to Böhlmarks in 1916, he was hired as artistic director both for the Stockholm factory and for the glass production at Pukeberg. With the new artistic director Notini, Böhlmarks was led into a modern, innovative direction that characterized above all the company's range of new, up-to-date fixtures and glass.
