About the Item

A unique and wonderfully decorative French late 19th century Directoire st. patinated, Gilt Metal, and Glass lantern. This wonderful hexagonal frosted glass lantern is centered at the bottom by a charming foliate rosette accenting the crossed supports of the hexagonal body and surrounded by a burgundy patinated Metal band. Each side panel displays Lead framed frosted Glass panes centered by Gilt Metal arrows leading from the bottom to the arched tops. At the top of the lantern showcases a wonderful burgundy toned dome supported on a decagram (ten pointed) base and adorned with stars before the pierced Gilt Metal top finial. *Canopies and Chain shown for display purposes, sold separately.
