About the Item

A large gilt-metal Toleware wall sconce, crafted in Italy in the 1960s, reflecting the bold glamour of Hollywood Regency design. The sculptural composition takes the form of a wheatsheaf-style arrangement, with billowing leaves set among six floral candle lamps, evoking the grandeur of mid-century Italian lighting. Crafted from bronze and finished in a rich, aged gold leaf, the sconce showcases fine detailing, with each leaf and petal carefully shaped to capture the fluidity of natural forms. At 115 cm in width, 96 cm in height, and 23 cm in depth, its scale lends itself to a statement display, whether placed above a fireplace or as a decorative centrepiece on a feature wall. The combination of floral and foliate motifs makes this piece a distinctive example of vintage Italian craftsmanship and style. Recently rewired and fitted with new lamp holders, the sconce is in very good vintage condition. Further PAT or UL testing is advised before installation to ensure compliance.

Wear consistent with age and use. Minor fading. Good condition for age and use. minor wear to gilt, some minor scratching to bronze.
