About the Item

The Halos Wall Light is a limited-edition sculptural wall light designed by Giovanni Corrado for Baroncelli. Inspired by one of humanity's oldest and most universal symbols, the work explores the halo not simply as a decorative motif, but as an expression of light itself—an immaterial presence that has represented divinity, knowledge, protection and transcendence across cultures for centuries. Rather than depicting the halo literally, the design interprets it as a luminous architectural form. A monumental cast glass disc appears to hover effortlessly away from the wall, surrounding a concealed source of illumination that radiates softly through the material. As light travels through the thick glass, it reveals subtle variations, internal textures and shifting optical effects, transforming the object from a solid mass during the day into an ethereal presence after dark. The restrained geometry of the composition allows the material itself to become the principal means of expression. The work changes continuously according to natural and artificial light, revealing new layers of transparency, reflection and depth as the viewer moves around it. In this way, Halos becomes less a static lighting fixture than a sculptural study of perception, atmosphere and the emotional qualities of light. Balancing contemporary engineering with traditional glassmaking techniques, the Halos Wall Light exemplifies Baroncelli's approach to collectible design, where craftsmanship, symbolism and material exploration converge to create timeless architectural objects. Each Halos Wall Light is individually handcrafted in Italy using solid hand-cast Cristallo glass, produced through a slow casting process that allows exceptional optical depth while preserving the subtle characteristics inherent to handmade glass. Small air bubbles, gentle ripples and natural variations within the material are not imperfections but an intrinsic part of the casting process, celebrating the individuality of every piece. The glass disc is supported by a precision-engineered metal structure. A concealed integrated warm-white LED lighting system is positioned behind the glass to produce an even, indirect illumination that enhances the optical qualities of the material while maintaining the illusion that the glass itself is emitting light. Each component is individually assembled, finished and tested by hand in Baroncelli's Italian workshop. The substantial cast glass, refined metalwork and concealed lighting technology combine to create a work that functions equally as architectural lighting and collectible sculpture. Designed for private collections, luxury residential interiors and architecturally significant hospitality projects, every Halos Wall Light is produced in a strictly limited edition, with the natural variations of handcrafted glass ensuring each example possesses its own distinctive character.
