About the Item

A striking pair of original 1960s German wall lights or sconces by Kinkeldey, beautifully crafted with faceted prism crystal and chrome mounts. Each light features a sculptural cube-like triangular shade formed from four square thick, sharply cut crystal panels that refract and scatter the light, creating a dramatic sparkle and prismatic glow when illuminated. The geometric design is characteristic of the glamorous mid-century lighting produced in Germany during the period and reflects Kinkeldey’s reputation for high-quality crystal fixtures. The lights are mounted on polished chrome metal mounts which are attached to a white lacquered cube which conceals the wiring behind. When switched on, the faceted crystal diffuses the light through its angular surfaces, producing a striking interplay of reflections and highlights. Their compact yet substantial form makes them ideal as statement small bedside lights, hallway sconces, or accent lighting in a living room or dining space. These vintage wall lights combine the bold geometry of mid-century modern design with the luxurious sparkle of cut crystal, making them equally suited to modern interiors and more classic settings. They remain a timeless example of German lighting design from the 1960s and a refined decorative feature for any interior. In good vintage condition with one small chip on the interior of one of the faceted plates. A single Edison E14 screw in lightbulb is required. I would recommend a candle shaped LED lightbulb.
