About the Item

An elegant pair of French 19th century Neo-Classical st. Ormolu, Wedgwood porcelain and crystal sconces. Each three arm sconce displays a bottom reserve with draped foliate garlands centered by a Wedgwood porcelain medallion. One sconce depicts a women in classical attire conversing and the other with a maiden in a landscape with two playful winged Putti. Above are striking urn shaped reserves with intertwined foliate garlands leading to the three scrolled arms decorated with acanthus leaves. The two outer electrified arms leads to a reeded circular band below the beautiful cut crystal saucers and fluted candle cups with a top beaded edge. The central arm leads to the same reeded circular band supporting a top topie shaped finial. The top of the sconces have larger Wedgwood fitted medallions, one with a maiden playing a leer and the other of a maiden next to a column while holding a scroll. The medallions are below the elegant top pierced palmettes amidst foliate scrolls and garlands. *Shades shown for display purposes, sold separately.
