Classic pair of square Brutalist wall lamps designed by Svend Aage Holm Sørensen in the 1960s. * Pair of two (2) square, multi-layered wall lamps in flame-cut brass * Designer: Svend Aage Holm Sørensen * Manufacturer: Holm Sørensen & Co., Denmark * Model: 5202 * Period: 1960s * Condition: Very good vintage condition with maker’s marks intact. Only very few minor marks consistent with age and use, primarily to the backplates. * Material: Flame-cut brass * Dimensions (H × W): 21 cm × 20 cm * Light source: E14 screw bulbs, max. 25W * Ready to use with 2-meter white cords. * The listed price is for the pair (2). ****************** Svend Aage Holm Sørensen (1913-2004) was a Danish industrial designer and architect educated from he Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, who made significant contributions to the development of modernist design in Denmark. Holm Sørensen's designs were characterized by their simplicity, elegance, and functionality, and he was particularly known for his work in lighting design. He was a true master of modernist design, and his work was characterized by his experimental approach to materials and form. He was known for his innovative use of materials such as glass, wood, metal, and even flame cut brass, which he combined in unexpected and striking ways to create unique and memorable designs.
