About the Item

A tall ceramic table lamp with Bitossi-style incised banding in ochre and green, a one-of-a-kind base in a warm, earth-toned palette of mustard, caramel, and moss. Newly wired for U.S. use. International plug customization available at no charge. Height includes lampshade. There are also two smaller "sister" lamps available as well. A large slender cylindrical column table lamp wrapped, collar to foot, in horizontal registers of molded geometric ornament. The bands alternate ochre and green: green horseshoe arches, ochre running scrolls, a row of upright double-axe figures, pointed leaf-and-dot ovals, X-and-diamond motifs, and a foot register of triangles, each separated by fine beaded lines. It is the stamped, incised relief vocabulary that made Aldo Londi's Bitossi ceramics so recognizable, here in the earth tones of West German production rather than the Italian Rimini blue. The base is paired with a new tall drum shade in a textured flax-toned weave finished with a soft gold trim, a deliberately quiet, natural-palette pairing. About Bay Keramik Bay Keramik was founded in 1933 by Eduard Bay in Ransbach-Baumbach, in the German Kannenbäckerland, a region long known for its clay and its potteries. Through the 1960s and 1970s the firm became one of the most prolific names in West German art ceramics, recognized for boldly molded relief surfaces and saturated glazes — work that drew openly on the incised, geometric style of Italian makers such as Bitossi. Bay marked its wares with a molded base impression giving the form number and height in centimeters, and its pieces from this period are widely collected today. About Amitābha Studio Amitābha Studio is a design atelier dedicated to transforming historic ceramics into one-of-a-kind lighting objects. Each lamp is crafted with deep reverence for the original form, using non-invasive methods that preserve the integrity of every antique or vintage vase. The lamp bases are paired with bespoke lampshades and each piece is finished with carefully selected cords, fittings, and handmade brass elements. The studio's work is guided by a commitment to sustainability, cultural heritage, and timeless design.
