About the Item

Newly wired for U.S. use, this one-of-a-kind ceramic table lamp sets a pear-shaped relief base with Bitossi-style incised banding in mustard ochre and moss green beneath a new flax shade, warm, earthy, and bohemian in spirit. International plug customization available at no charge. Height includes lampshade. Two larger sister lamps in the same banded ochre-and-green ceramic are also available separately, each a different one-of-a-kind shape and size. The base takes a graceful pear form, rising from a rounded lower body through a tapered shoulder to a banded neck, and the molded ornament runs the full height in stacked registers — zigzags, scallops, lozenges, and beaded lines, alternating warm ochre and deep green glossy glazes. It is the stamped, incised relief vocabulary that made Aldo Londi's Bitossi ceramics so recognizable, here in the earth tones of West German production rather than the Italian Rimini blue. It is topped with a new empire-form shade in a textured flax-toned weave with a soft gold trim. About Bay Keramik The West German pottery Bay Keramik was established in 1933 at Ransbach-Baumbach by Eduard Bay, in a clay-rich region with a centuries-old ceramic tradition. By the 1960s and 1970s it ranked among the country's leading producers of decorative art ceramics, known for crisply molded relief patterns in warm earth tones — a geometric, incised style that drew openly on Italian makers such as Bitossi. The firm's wares are identified by a molded base mark recording the form number and the height in centimeters, and its boldly banded designs from this era remain a favorite among collectors of period ceramics. About Amitābha Studio Amitābha Studio is a design atelier dedicated to transforming historic ceramics into one-of-a-kind lighting objects. Each lamp is crafted with deep reverence for the original form, using non-invasive methods that preserve the integrity of every antique or vintage vase. The lamp bases are paired with bespoke lampshades and each piece is finished with carefully selected cords, fittings, and handmade brass elements. The studio's work is guided by a commitment to sustainability, cultural heritage, and timeless design.
