About the Item

This rare French Mid-Century Modern chandelier was designed by Maison Lunel in Paris, France, during the 1950s. With its distinctive six-light composition and elegant ostrich egg-shaped glass shades, the fixture is an outstanding example of postwar French lighting design. The chandelier combines brass, lacquered metal, Lucite, plastic, and glass, creating a sophisticated contrast of textures and materials. Its balanced, architectural silhouette reflects the refined modernist aesthetic associated with leading European lighting manufacturers of the period, including Arlus in France and Stilnovo in Italy. The curved arms and sculptural shades give the chandelier a strong decorative presence while preserving an airy and graceful appearance. The fixture measures approximately 84 cm high and 77 cm in diameter, equivalent to 33 inches high and 30.3 inches in diameter. Its substantial scale makes it particularly suitable for a dining room, living room, entrance hall, library, or high-end hospitality interior. The suspension can be shortened to accommodate different ceiling heights. Maison Lunel was an important Parisian lighting manufacturer known for producing elegant modernist fixtures throughout the mid-20th century. The company frequently worked with tubular metal, brass, sculptural glass, and innovative synthetic materials. Its designs are now increasingly sought after by collectors, architects, and interior designers specializing in authentic French 1950s furniture and lighting. This chandelier remains in very good vintage condition, with light signs of age consistent with its history. It will be professionally rewired and ready for use in the buyer’s country, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, and China. It is compatible with LED bulbs. A sophisticated and highly decorative Lunel chandelier, ideal for collectors of French Mid-Century Modern design.

Located in Saint-Amans-des-Cots, FR

An exceptional French Art Deco table lamp created through the collaboration of Daum Nancy and Charles Ranc, France, circa 1915. Combining a magnificent acid-etched glass shade by Daum with an elegant solid bronze eagle base designed by Charles Ranc, this rare lamp beautifully illustrates the artistic transition from the late Art Nouveau period to the emerging Art Deco style. The finely modeled bronze eagle supports the authentic Daum glass shade with remarkable balance and sophistication. Its sculptural quality, rich bronze patina, and delicately crafted glass create an elegant composition that embodies the craftsmanship for which French decorative arts became internationally renowned during the early twentieth century. The shade is signed "Daum Nancy", bearing the factory signature used between 1910 and 1915, confirming its authenticity and historical importance. The lamp measures 14.2 inches high (36 cm), 8.7 inches wide (22 cm), and 4.1 inches deep (10.5 cm). The glass shade alone measures 3.75 inches (9.5 cm) in diameter, creating beautifully proportioned illumination while emphasizing the refined bronze sculpture beneath. Presented in excellent vintage condition, this lamp has been professionally rewired and will be delivered ready for use in your country, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, and many other international destinations. It is fully compatible with modern LED bulbs, combining historic craftsmanship with contemporary practicality. Highly desirable among collectors of Daum Nancy lighting...
