About the Item

A handsome pair of French 19th century Neo-Classical st. patinated bronze and Vert de Patricia marble lamps, in the manner of Clodion and after a model by John Flaxman. Each lamp is raised by a beautiful circular Vert de Patricia marble base with a fine mottled border. Above the wrap around tied laurel bands are the fluted socle pedestals leading up to the patinated bronze bodies. The bodies display richly chased and wonderfully executed cherubs playing in fields on one side, and picking grapes out of baskets on the other. At each side are impressive and finely detailed rams heads with large horns centering the fluted lightly curved tops. All original patina throughout.
