About the Item

A French table lamp by Albert Tormos, hand-carved from solid limestone in the 1970s. The form is defined by stacked horizontal cutouts carved into a squared block of stone, each layer revealing the limestone’s textured, fossil-like grain. A polished chrome column rises at the center, paired with a rectangular shade wrapped in natural fiber. When illuminated, light moves gently through the carved openings and across the stone, giving the piece a warm, grounded presence. Signed along the base. Condition: Great vintage condition. The limestone base shows minor wear consistent with age, including one chip at the base. Light patina to the chrome column. The natural fiber shade shows expected irregularities from handcrafted construction. Professionally rewired by our team of restorationists with one new socket, plug, and felt bottom. Accepts one E12 and one E26 light bulb.
