Large Unique Postmodern Table Lamp in Brushed Steel 1970s A truly remarkable one-off postmodern table lamp in brushed steel. The Netherlands, late 1970s. This sculptural table lamp is built around a geometric composition of simple forms. The interplay between circles, triangles, squares and diagonals gives the piece a strong architectural presence. It shows a remarkable sense of balance and a distinctly individual character. This one-off piece is fabricated from brushed steel with folded edges, visible welds and precision-formed components. Rather than concealing its construction it celebrates the honesty of the material and the process by which it was made. The brushed finish catches and diffuses light softly, allowing subtle variations in tone to animate the otherwise restrained surface. The design reflects the experimental spirit of the late 1970s and early 1980s, when designers increasingly explored sculptural furniture and lighting as functional objects that occupied the space somewhere between industrial design and autonomous art. Its crisp geometry and restrained material palette allow it to integrate effortlessly into contemporary interiors while retaining the unmistakable presence of a handcrafted object. Comes in a good and untouched condition with a subtle yet interesting patina on the steel surfaces. Originally - EU - wired.
