About the Item

The idea of marble and glass in the same piece makes this lamp worth a second and even third look. Light gray, tan and a white background on this Chinese influenced export lamp makes a strong design statement. This lamp does well in a pastel-themed room or against a strong color palette. It is enameled and hexagonal. The baluster shape Chinese export lamp was created for the Western market in the mid-20th Century. It is hexagonal shape with a pinched neck and tapered body. The allover white glaze with parcel gilt and tan decorative elements end in the hexagonal ebonized foot. This lamp is 34 inches tall overall and without condition issues. The cord is standard for the U.S., and the piece is ready for installation.

This lamp is so special, so elegant and hard to find. The palette is attractive in ivory with leaves in various shades of green and gray that appear to be falling on this vintage botanical hand-painted porcelain vasiform table lamp. This is attributed to Europe from the mid 20th century. There is a signature painted with a brush near the base of the lamp. The lamp's base is porcelain with gilt trim that is wearing in some sections. The plug is older and dates to mid-century or earlier. It presents well with an added white shade that is not included. It measures 33 inches tall from base to finial and 5 inches by 5 inches wide. The lamp's harp is old and unattractive with deep oxidation, and it will be replaced before delivery unless the buyer asks otherwise.
