About the Item

Rare vintage pair of ceramic figural table lamps by Borghese, circa 1960s. These vintage Italian made lamps are signed on the bottom with the traditional Borghese paper label as seen in the last photo. Each figure is mounted on a gold leafed two tiered giltwood base with four small legs that slightly elevate the lamps. They depict a Chinese male and female figure with a gorgeous burnt orange crackled finish with greenish/black highlights giving them an aged patina. This was done intentionally by Borghese at the time of manufacturing to give them an antique look and a three-dimensional appearance. SHADES INCLUDED. EXCELLENT RESTORED CONDITION. These lamps were completely restored with new brass posts, new brass sockets, new clear electrical cords and NEW light gray/beige silk shades. PLEASE NOTE: The NEW shades were custom made to fit the lamps and figurine style sockets. The shades sit directly upon the sockets and do not require harps, very common for European figurine lamps from the era. Guaranteed to be authentic vintage lamps from the 1960s. Perfect for a Chinese, Asian or Chinoiserie or an elegant Palm Beach style home. Can be used as bedside table lamps or desk lamps in a library or office.
