About the Item

Large Venetian glass mirror in Renaissance style, architectural frame with rectangular structure organized around a central oval beveled mirror, dimensions 133 x 83 cm, weight 30 kg. The frame is made up of multiple engraved glass plates with patterns of gadroons, pearls and lentils. The spandrels around the edge of the beveled glass are decorated with polychrome enameled painting with motifs of acanthus, foliage and flowers in shades of blue, orange, red, pink and green. The upper crest features molded and beveled glass scrolls and acanthus leaves, surmounting an enameled oval cartouche. Molded glass floral sconces adorn the corners and around the edge of the oval frame. Original raw wood back. General condition good. Pitting and slight wear on the glass plates applied to the lower part, characteristic of its age. A broken glued plate reported at the bottom right of the oval, without missing. No notable restoration work to report elsewhere. 19th century creation in the Venetian tradition.
