About the Item

An attractive vintage terrestrial globe by Columbus-Verlag Paul Oestergaard K.G., Berlin and Stuttgart, mounted on a turned wooden base with a metal meridian. Measuring 41 cm or 16.13 inches in height with a 20 cm (7.63" inches) base diameter and weighing 3.20 pounds or 1.46 kg, this decorative globe combines educational appeal with classic mid-century design. The printed map displays an authentic aged patina, reflecting decades of careful use. Overall, the globe remains a charming display piece with visible signs of age and handling. The map surface shows rubbing, minor losses, and small defects, with areas of slight yellowing consistent with its age. The wooden base is slightly slanted and somewhat loose, while the metal mount exhibits expected wear. A characterful original globe, ideal for collectors, libraries, studies, or vintage-inspired interiors. Found at an Estate Sale in Munich, Germany.
