About the Item

An exceptional English Regency period Canterbury, circa 1820. This elegant piece of salon furniture features a masterfully carved, symmetrical lyre-form and scroll central divider, flanked by open slated partitions designed to hold sheet music or periodicals. The base includes a single deep dove-tail constructed drawer with turned wood knob pulls, offering additional storage. The piece is elevated on well turned legs that terminate in their original brass cup casters, allowing for easy mobility. Dimensions: 20.25” wide by 14.5” deep by 22” high. Condition: Please see detail photos. The Canterbury shows beautiful patination and historical wear consistent with age and use. Solid structural condition with minor surface scuffs mentioned for accuracy as the presentation is exceptional.
