This cushion is a one-of-a-kind and part of a sustainability project. It has been created from an up-cycled, recycled luxury fabric, used with the intentions of promoting a more eco-friendly environment by using already existing materials. We both celebrate and cherish the past and take care with rare and precious vintage and antique materials. Through layers of carefully added backing the delicate fabric has been fortified for longevity and thus preserved. (the original designer/brand has been fully credited below) Description: Custom-made one-of-a-kind luxury cushion created from a beautiful vintage silk Nina Ricci fashion scarf in an exquisite floral pattern. The most sumptuous soft to the touch silk in a soft, feminine peachy pink. A dainty floral picture of foliage and large blooms of pink spiraea and luscious yellow broom. Note the Nina Ricci signature on the bottom right hand corner, and the small textured foulard circular details repeated throughout the fabric. Italian born French designer Nina Ricci was celebrated for her haute couture fashion house founded in Paris in 1932 and world famous perfumes. L’Air de Temps is the most recognized with it’s two intertwining doves capping the iconic Lalique designed glass bottle. Many of her scarves were designed to complement the perfumes and often featured these dove motifs. Our scarf is from one of her more luxury ranges, in perfect original unused condition, a plush adornment to any interior. Backed in new 100% pure Irish linen, the aristocrat of textiles and certified by the Irish Linen Guild, lined in a layer of natural bamboo wadding, filled with new plush duck feather insert and a concealed zip. The traditional oatmeal color linen is a combination of the unbleached raw color of the natural flax plant on the weft intertwined with pristine white on the warp, resulting in a beautiful mottled effect. A contemporary cushion (pillow) constructed with antique elements by using fragments of precious fabric. We have two other cushions with Nina Ricci silks in striking floral and jewel designs.
