About the Item

Derbend Rugs are products of a district including a large port city on the Caspian Sea of that name as well as smaller villages to the south and west in the northern Caucasus. The rugs have many similarities to the refined weavings from Kuba to the south, often displaying bold geometric patterns on indigo fields, however they tend to have slightly coarser weaves and longer piles. This carpet has an overall Afshan pattern containing flower stems with stepped polygons on an indigo field. 10' 11" x 5' 4"
