About the Item

Kuba is the largest rug weaving center in the Caucasus region. Located in the northeast near the Caspian Sea, this area is known for producing rugs with medium-density, low piles on solid foundations. These rugs are often woven on indigo fields. This runner has a repeat pattern of polychrome latch-hook medallions within a Kufic border. This border pattern is based on the angular style of Arabic script; however, it is used for ornamental purposes in carpets, having no specific translation or meaning. 10’ 1” x 3’ 4”.
