This 11x14 custom rug design by Rug & Kilim is an exciting reimagining of an extremely rare turn-of-the-century antique Art Nouveau rug design—an elegant Viennese design from the time of the Austrian Empire, fabulously revitalized in our Modern Classics Collection. These photos represent a recently sold 11x14 rug in this design, made with hand-knotted wool in a brilliant adaptation of fine curvature to large scale by one of the most skilled atelier looms in our field today. Admirers of the craft will particularly appreciate this contribution of such refreshing contemporary colors seldom seen in designs of this movement—a play of cream white tones, underscoring light green and gold hues in both the fret-pattern borders and floral patterns of the field.
