Attractive Antique Kashkooli Gabbeh 3' 9" x 5' 7" Immaculate Gabbeh rug woven by the renowned Qashqai tribe the Kashkoolis. Gabbeh is a Persian word for simple. These designs are woven by many cultures, but originated in southwest Persia many years ago. Newer productions of these pieces are incredibly simplified and rarely feature too many design elements. Antique Gabbehs; however, often portray satisfyingly simplistic geometric designs that are much more reflective of the tribes traditional designs. Out of the many Gabbeh weavers out there some of the very best are done by the Kashkoolis, and are quite sought after. This piece is comprised entirely of wool that was raised, sheered, dyed, spun, and woven by the Kashkooli tribe over 90 years ago. The Kashkooli's craftsmanship is unmatched. Their tight weave and excellent wool create everlasting masterpieces such as this. This example of Gabbeh features a beautiful earthy color pallet of creams browns and a touch of red for color. The tans and browns featured in this piece are natural undyed wool tones, which really highlight the ingenuity and creativity of these weavers. The limited colors and geometric design makes this piece incredibly versatile pairing well with any decor modern, antique or boho etc. These tones will pop the most on dark wood floors and lighten up the space. This little beauty is well aged, but in spectacular shape. The pile is low but even, regardless this rug is quite attractive and will be for another 100 + years! This piece, like the rest of our collection, was hand-picked by Persian Rug expert and Shiraz native, Jason Dadras. Each piece was acquired through the relationships he forged around the world. Our rugs are ethically sourced and have been legally imported.
