Made with handwoven wool and silk, this 3x10 runner rug and flat weave flatweave represents a bold, elegant new line of Rug & Kilim’s award-winning Scandinavian Collection—affectionately dubbed our “Watson Yarn” in homage to the collaboration behind this texture. On the Design: Crisp and bright tones of ivory and cream white, silver-gray and taupe hues underscore a repeat of large-scale geometric patterns inspired by the mid-century Swedish approach to minimalism and Deco sensibilities alike. The silk’s natural sheen lends a luxurious play of the light from any perspective, and likewise brings an added sense of movement to an otherwise comfortable, livable repeat. Keen eyes will further admire the meticulous blend of yarns visible in this flatweave—a unique and intricate process which both acts as a subtle nod to traditional Scandinavian weaving techniques and lends a look of abrash and striae to the design.
