About the Item

An iconic and original 728/F model armchair by Josef Hoffmann (1870-1956) for J. & J. Kohn, Vienna. Commonly known as a ‘Fledermaus’ chair, named after the Viennese cabaret it was first designed for. Constructed from bent and turned beech timber, sympathetically restored, with a newly reinstated cane seat. Retains paper maker’s label to the underside of the frame.
