About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this lovely pair of Antique Victorian, hand carved solid oak & leather throne armchairs with original porcelain castors. A very good looking and well made pair, these are quite rare in the sense that they have coil sprung front edges, this is a lot more expensive to have commission than a traditional solid front edge seat, it offers a much more comfortable seat. The frames are very nicely carved, the legs are especially nice and in the Gillows of Lancaster style. The top rail is again heavily carved and very decorative indeed. Condition wise, we have deep cleaned, hand condition waxed and hand polished them from top to bottom, the leather upholstery is quite modern and as such is in fine order, the frames have a wonderful period patina throughout. Dimensions Height:- 116cm Width:- 71cm Depth:- 84.5cm Seat height:- 42cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point. This item is available for collection from our Pulborough warehouses. Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
