About the Item

Giuseppe Pagano Pogatschnig. 'Bocconi' armchairs, Italy, 1940s. Giuseppe Pagano Pogatschnig e Gino Maggioni designed this 'Bocconi' armchairs in curved wood. Two large squares form it in curved wood that acts as armrests, held together by two large wooden boards. The seat and backrest are made with a woven cord that combines wonderfully with the bentwood frames. The original cord is in good condition and the wood has some minor patina. When you choose for used modern design, you use what is already there, making it sustainable. You may not give the furniture a second, but even a third or fourth life. Midcentury design furniture is often a high-quality product that lasts several lives for a reason. Some furniture has a rich history, and the story is still visible or tangible with some. The signs of wear give a glimpse into the previous owner's life.
