Naked' Antique Ash & Elm Vernacular Stick Back Armchair, 19th Century A rare and highly unusual 19th-century vernacular stick back armchair crafted from ash and elm, showcasing the honest construction and individuality associated with traditional country-made furniture. Offered in its 'naked' state without a seat, this fascinating piece reveals the original framework and craftsmanship beneath. The chair features a classic stick back, shaped arm supports, and turned legs united by stretchers, all displaying a wonderful aged patina acquired through generations of use. A particularly distinctive feature is the double row of front spindles beneath the armrests, an uncommon detail that sets this chair apart from more conventional vernacular examples and highlights the skill and creativity of its maker.
