About the Item

Pair of vintage carved oak Louis XV style fauteuil with serpentine front, carved apron, beaded carvings and surmounted with carved shell motif. The chairs with manchettes, the upholstery double welted in a cottony damask fabric with embroidered flowers, trees and leaves. The chairs are heavy and solid and resting on cabriole legs. Dimensions: 29 1/2" W, 30" D, 18" seat height and 40 1/2" H Condition: Please see detail photos. There is some age related wear including some wood chips/ losses, slight wear to trim and fabric, loose threading at the base of arm supports, old faded spotting and light stains to the seats. Age appropriate wear to the frame with an authentic Provincial French presentation.
