About the Item

Foldable articulated bench in the Savonarola style, finely crafted in Brazilian rosewood. Although of anonymous authorship, this model became an icon of Brazilian domestic interiors during the mid-20th century and was widely produced by local workshops and manufacturers. Examples executed in Brazilian rosewood are particularly sought after for the exceptional quality, durability, and rich grain of the wood. Presented in original condition and very well preserved. The wood has been polished and displays minor signs of use consistent with age.
