About the Item

Pair Antique French Louis XVI Walnut Upholstered Bergeres ~ Armchairs is the perfect choice for comfortable seating in any room of the home or office. The frames features bold classical contours inspired by the ancient Greek and Roman civilizations that are adeptly carved in the manner of Louis XVI with motifs such as Greek coin and acanthus plumes with beading and fluting accents. The side arms are gracefully contoured and upholstered on both sides, wrapping one with comfort. The seat back is caned for a light and airy look that is also particularly comfortable in the summer months. Tapered and fluted legs provide support. Upholstery is a fine silk Damask with cornflower blue stripes and light gold patterns fastened with brass tacks for a truly timeless look. If you act fast, the original matching pair of bergeres and an armbench are still available as of this writing! Circa early 1900s Each measures 42.5H x 26.5W x 23D; seat 18.5H
