About the Item

The Frevo chair is a stunning piece of furniture created by the Brazilian artist and designer Ronald Sasson in 2021. It reflects the unique vision and sharp eyes of its creator, showcasing a perfect blend of simplicity and sculptural lines that explore the dialogue between wood and leather. The chair's structure can be made of solid Walnut or Freijó wood, and it features a coated fiberglass seat that adds a modern touch to its overall design. The use of these materials highlights Sasson's ability to merge traditional and contemporary elements to create a piece that is both elegant and functional. Ronald Sasson is one of the most prominent names in the contemporary design scene in Brazil. He was born in Curitiba in 1967 and has been passionate about design since his adolescence. He began his career by creating experimental objects and later moved to Paris, where he was exposed to conceptual and neo-experimental art galleries. After a year in Paris, he moved to Israel to collect more information and enhance his skills. Back in Brazil, Sasson worked as a plastic artist for over seven years, gaining recognition for his art and being selected for several art salons. During this period, he also immersed himself in the world of design in a self-taught way. He always sought a trait that merged his authorial artistic base with industrial and replication possibilities, creating designs that were both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Sasson's outstanding talent has been recognized with over 26 international awards, including five IF Design Award Germany, four German Design Award Nominees, six Good Design Award Chicago, seven A’Design Award Italy, one Restaurant & Bar Award England, the Design Prize of The Casa Vogue Brazil 18, and the Prize of the Museum of the Brazilian House. His work has been showcased at prestigious events such as the Biennale di Venezia in 2018, Artgenève Montecarlo in 2017, NHOW Milan 2016, and the collective exhibitions, Frio and Marble History. Sasson's design philosophy is influenced by everything around him, from architecture to nature, new materials, graphic formats, and graphics. He seeks to bring his plastic memory to the possibilities of his work, creating pieces that are both unique and timeless. Overall, the Frevo chair is a testament to Ronald Sasson's exceptional talent and creativity as a designer. It is a beautiful and functional piece of furniture that reflects the designer's commitment to merging traditional and contemporary elements to create innovative and visually stunning pieces. The chair is a perfect example of how design can combine simplicity, elegance, and functionality, enhancing our daily lives.
