An exceptional and increasingly hard-to-find set of original Galvanitas S23 chairs, produced in the Netherlands in the 1960s. We are offering a large group of 30 chairs, with the flexibility to purchase them individually as well. Executed in beautifully shaped dark Pagholz with elegant black tubular metal sled bases, these chairs embody the restrained strength of Dutch mid-century utilitarian design. Their silhouette is clean, architectural, and immediately recognizable: a sculptural molded seat and backrest paired with a graphic metal frame that gives the design both lightness and visual rhythm. What makes this group especially attractive is the condition. Most examples are in very good vintage condition, which is becoming increasingly uncommon for this model, particularly in larger matching quantities. The overall presentation is strong, clean, and highly usable. The S23 is not only visually compelling, but also remarkably practical. The shaped back offers comfortable support, the Pagholz is durable and easy to maintain, and the sled base adds stability while giving the chair a refined industrial character. Because of these qualities, they are particularly well suited for a wide variety of interiors. These chairs work beautifully: around a large dining table in a kitchen or breakfast room as seating in a restaurant, café, wine bar, or lunchroom in a boutique hotel, gallery, studio, or creative office in a conference or meeting space or as standalone accent chairs in a carefully curated mid-century interior They are especially appealing where a project calls for authentic period design with warmth, durability, and a cohesive visual presence. Their dark tone and understated form allow them to integrate easily into rustic, modernist, industrial, wabi-sabi, or more minimal interiors.
