About the Item

Lillemor Mannerheim (1927-1994) Finland, artist and designer. She was one of the leading designers for Gefle, Rörstrand and Arabia in the 1950s-1980s. She studied at Higher Art Industry School in Stockholm from 1945-49, and continued her education focusing on sculptural technique at the Académi de la Grande Chaumiére in Paris. She exhibited at Trienalen i Milano 1954 and her sculpture "LeVieux Paysan" in chamotte is a part of the Musee dÁrt Moderne collection in Paris. This set with six high-back chairs demonstrate her daring design within the otherwise quite sober Scandinavian Modern.
