Born into a family of avant-garde architects in 1968 in Transylvania, Alina is a French artist living and working in Paris, France. She graduated in 2005 from the Haute École de Joaillerie in Paris and won several jewelry design contests ( Tahitian Pearl Trophy, HRD Diamonds Design Awards ). Her Invincible Cape entered the Diamond Museum in Antwerpen, Belgium and her pieces are part of private collections worldwide. Alina says of herself NO rules, NO limits, probably in reaction to the limits she has encountered for a lifetime. The guiding line in her work is freedom. Freedom to live, escape domination, and misuse all sorts of found objects and turn them into wrapping powerful and soulful body jewels. She calls them "Les guerrières". She may use all kinds of materials yet simple techniques and easy to wear despite their weight, but what defines more her work is the energy and magic she instills into them. She gives free rein to the metal to flow, without controlling much of the process. Accidents amaze and delight her as well. But tension and rigor are also here. Always. Chance and play, the unexpected and the experimental nourish and surprise her imagination with a need for incessant wonder, combining instinctive creation and questioning about the second meaning and escape. Just like love, Alina's jewelry and objects are diabolically divine, bordering on the unbearable and constantly pushing the limits of what is wearable and what is acceptable. Alina collected since her childhood stones, there's no day on the streets where she doesn't pick up one. In 2021 Alina fell in love with an incredible rough granite slab and the idea and needing to create some furniture pieces opened to her. One of her first big heavy collars she created was made of Roman head lag screws from the XIXth century coming from an old bed found with a friend on the streets of Paris. The weight of the necklace is 5kg and rust was still on it when the biggest contemporary jewelry collector in Europe asked for it. These kinds of long hand-forged screws in iron are Alina's forever love and after some thinking the Spikes's feet for her one-of-a-kind rough granite slabs were evidence. Maybe something of cruel Transylvania history behind ( the famous Vlad Țepeș voïvode who impaled his enemies ), maybe just her love for mechanics, but there must be another unconscious explanation. What's marvelous about all that is that once done, she discovered that the Spikes feet can be seen as kinetic & optical art, even a musical instrument: they dance and sing in levitation, just a few touch the ground. There's something mystic when you touch Alina's furniture. Disturbing and fascinating. But also playful and exciting.

A heavy statement chair, with volumes reminiscent of brutalist architecture and deep textured voids. Depth of details are emphasized when the light reaches the voids, while the simple exterior planes become monochromatic geometric shapes.
