About the Item

A wonderfully unique and surrealist hand-shaped chair handmade in the 1970s. Elongated fingers covered in black velvet form the back of the chair, encapsulating the sitter within their slender grasp. The chair rises on a circular chrome base. There are no visible maker’s marks. A fabulous piece of functional surrealism for the home/office. Huge presence in a room and amazing conversation starter. Intriguing piece to anyone who sees it. Great piece of art. Small blemishes throughout the piece where velvet has torn away or been damaged. All wear is photographed. Located at our Los Angeles showroom.
