Attributed to Maurizio Tempestini, set of twelve dining chairs, walnut, rush, Italy, 1940s The chairs from this 1940s Italian dining set exhibit a refined balance between simplicity, rustic elegance, and craftsmanship. Their design is characterized by a clear geometric structure, with an emphasis on vertical and tapering lines. The walnut frames are slender and gracefully proportioned, while the backrests are composed of evenly spaced vertical rods, creating a sense of rhythm and lightness.The legs, slightly splayed and tapered, contribute to the chair’s poised stance. Their subtle curvature enhances the sense of movement, softening the otherwise rectilinear composition. The design avoids ornamentation, relying instead on proportion, line, and texture to convey elegance. The design bears a strong resemblance to the work of the Florentine designer Maurizio Tempestini.
