About the Item

Rare complete set of eight “Pause” dining chairs designed by Mario Giannetti for Acerbis, Italy, dating from the 1980s. A highly distinctive Italian design combining sculptural bentwood construction with graphic white woven seats and backrests. The chairs feature elegantly curved wooden frames with sweeping front legs and characteristic arched side supports. The construction gives the chairs a remarkably light and architectural appearance while maintaining a strong sculptural presence. Both the seats and backrests are finished with broad white woven straps arranged in an attractive geometric pattern. The contrast between the warm honey-colored wood and crisp white webbing gives the chairs a fresh, almost contemporary appearance despite their 1980s origin. Particularly attractive is the continuous curved profile of the frame, visible from every angle. The design reflects the experimental approach to form, materials and construction found in high-quality Italian furniture of the period.
