About the Item

A charming and highly decorative camel saddle stool handcrafted in North Africa, combining carved hardwood, brass capped uprights and a padded leather seat embossed with Egyptian-inspired scenes. The unusual sculptural form reflects traditional camel saddlery, adapted for domestic use as a low stool or accent piece. The thick leather cushion is decorated with finely embossed motifs depicting desert landscapes, camels, palm trees and figures in an ancient Egyptian style. Hand braided trim and leather lashings emphasize the handcrafted character, while the warm patina of the wood and leather speaks to decades of use and age. Today the piece works beautifully as a decorative object, footstool or conversation piece, adding an authentic North Africa or Middle Eastern touch to an interior.
