About the Item

This elegant armchair, designed by Adolf Relling and Fredrik Kayser in 1946, is a rare model also known as 'Kaminstolen,' which translates roughly to "fireplace or stove chair." This particular example was produced by Dokka Møbler in Norway, circa 1958. The chair features a beautifully crafted frame made of solid oak wood. Its sculpturally shaped, carved armrests lend a striking and inviting appearance. The gracefully curved backrest is upholstered with a cord detail, emphasizing its organic form. Complementing the rich tones of the oak wood, the ivory tweed/mélange fabric from Nobilis Paris creates a beautiful contrast. The chair is in very good, completely restored condition. It has been reupholstered in an ivory colored mélange fabric by Nobilis Paris with a Samuel & Sons cord detail on the backrest. Completely renewed interior upholstery as well.
