About the Item

This 'Karuselli' swivel lounge chair by Yrjö Kukkapuro, originally designed in 1964 features a strong fiberglass shell, soft black leather upholstery, and a chromed steel swivel mechanism that rotates and tilts to achieve the most comfortable sitting position. Designed with ergonomics in mind and perfectly proportioned to cradle the human body Finnish architect and designer Alvar Aalto established a legacy of durable and modern decor options with Artek, founded in 1935. This 'Karuselli' swiveling lounge chair by Yrjö Kukkapuro would work great in a Post-Modern, Mid-Century Modern, Space Age Mod, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Zen / Minimalism room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, Hollywood Regency, Classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office. MEASUREMENTS: H 36.5" x W 31.5" x D 38.5" Seat Height: 14.5" CONDITION: Very good condition. Clean and bright, the fiberglass, leather and steel is in very good to excellent condition with only a few blemishes. One small area on base where there is some surface level craquelure to the fiberglass layer but does not go through to the underside base. One small chip to the fiberglass in another area. Some light scratches and patina to the steel but otherwise in excellent showroom condition.
